Dr John-Paul Nicolo is a neurologist and epilepsy specialist. He is the head of the Epilepsy Service at Royal Melbourne Hospital, and also works at the Alfred Hospital and University Hospital Geelong.

John-Paul completed his undergraduate training at the University of Melbourne, before undertaking neurology and epilepsy training at University Hospital Geelong, Monash Medical Centre, Royal Melbourne Hospital, and the Alfred Hospital. He later completed a PhD through the University of Melbourne, focusing on the development of epilepsy after stroke. He remains active in neurology research with particular interests in stroke-related epilepsy, brain MRI, and clinical trials.

John-Paul is a supervisor of physician trainees through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) and of PhD students through Monash University. He is the deputy chair of the Australian Epilepsy Clinical Trials Network (AECTN).

He consults on patients with seizures, epilepsy, and general neurological conditions.
