Dr Michael Li is a consultant neurologist with a particular interest in movement and neurodegenerative disorders. He completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Melbourne in 2018, then undertook physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne followed by neurology training there and at Launceston General Hospital.

In 2025, he was awarded the Nick Blair Movement Disorders Fellowship at Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) in Sydney, undergoing subspecialty training in Parkinson’s Disease, movement disorders and neurogenetics under the mentorship of leading clinician-scientist Professor Carolyn Sue. He continues his PhD at NeuRA (funded by an NHRMC Postgraduate Scholarship), where he uses patient-derived neurons to better understand the cellular changes in Parkinson’s disease and identify targeted drug treatments.

Dr Li is interested in seeing patients with Parkinson’s disease, movement disorders and any other neurological condition.
